I am not exactly a bookworm. Even back in college, I used to run away from books and study. What can I say? Recently I was at a party and there for some reason, I got into an argument that how books doesnt teach you a life lesson,but real-life experience, does. Now, to my bad luck, some one mentioned Elif Shafak's 40 rules of love and I admitted that I haven't read it ever. The crowd was so shocked as if I told them I am an alien. I mean why is it so popular? Is forty rules of love a true story?

I am following the discussion and so far I don't understand what the fuss is all about. I have read much better love stories than 40 rules of love. Has anyone of you read the Great Gatsby? and please don't even compare the book to the movie. It was a disaster. The Great Gatsby had drama, action and most importantly romance a person would love to relive again and again.

No doubt, they thought you are an alien. It is a true gem indeed. I will admit it, I am in love with the 40 rules of love. You need to give it a read to understand its significance, explaining the context here won't be fair to the author's hard work. If you are someone who believes in finding true love in the real world, then give it a read. Don't hope for someone to give you forty rules of love character analysis here in an online space, as I said earlier, it won't be justified to the author.

the way you narrated the story, sounds funny but yes, it is even shocking to me that you haven't read the infamous love story. No, it's not a true story, it is entirely fiction but conveys a beautiful message of understanding the way we connect with our loved ones and our spiritual journey. The lessons from the forty rules of love that you need to understand include the importance of love and hope in this thing we call Life.
